Federal Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion is planning to step down, possibly as early as Thursday, the Toronto Star reported.(h/t Mike Watkins)The paper cites Liberal party insiders who say Dion will make an announcement then stay on as leader until a successor is chosen.

ReplyDeleteI suppose he needs to go, but I have mixed feelings about the guy. I think he's got a ton of integrity, but probably was never cut out for the position.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I have no trust for the Liberal Party, I think that Dion was a good guy and could well have been a good prime minister.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, Dion had the balls to put forward a smart policy with huge risk. Because of the attacks it took, it didn't do well for the Liberals, but I respect Dion for doing the right thing.
That and I won't forgive Harper for his disgusting attack tactics this election.
you think the provincial grits and you, Dave, would learn from the federal libs' ordeal and avoid electing Swann as your leader? with Swann you may lose seats provincially too - same cloth as Dion.
