Following up on one of last week's silly summer news stories, Speaker Ken Kowalski responded to Alberta NDP leader Brian Mason in a letter yesterday. In the letter, Kowalski denied Mason's request to halt the two Official Opposition appointments to the Electoral Boundaries Commission, stating that in his opinion, Liberal leader David Swann did consult with Mason prior to the announcement of the appointments.

ReplyDeleteNot sure if Ken was being serious or not, but I figure Brian would be the next most likely to be TPB after Lou Arab.

ReplyDeleteIs he a fairly web-savvy guy? TPB was pretty up to speed on google analytics and other tech stuff, as well as being very well versed on the NDP's pet issues.
Does Brian exhibit tendencies in both of these areas?
Not really, Mason gets his next day's schedule faxed to his house every night. This is not a tech savvy person.
ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't Lou Arab, the next most likely candidate is caucus staffer John Ashton. He's got the inside scoop that all staff would have and is a big web head. The NDs go to him for all things tech. Plus he's rabidly partisan and prone to saying more than he should, as was TPB.
Well if Kowalski says so, it must be true.
ReplyDeleteFor a while there, Hugh MacDonald and a few Liberals thought TPB was NDP research director Sarah Hoffman. She seems smart enough, although if it's her, she is far nicer in person then in her writing style. She's pretty into the whole Children's Services Issues, as was TPB.

Man, Ashton's had a rough run of it. TPB is shut down and then the Eskimos lose to the Ti-Cats. He probably cares more about the Esks than fighting for the workin man.
