board up the windows!

Someone tried to break into my house 10 minutes ago.

They tried to break open the back door.

I heard a bang and went to see what it was.

They saw me.

They ran.

I called the Police.

Now I'm left wondering if he'll come back when I leave.

    Man that's scary! Good thing you were home hopefully he'll be smart enough not to come back seeing as how he knows that you saw him. Stuff like that is so invasive - it's really unsettling.

    They tried to infiltrate the lobby of the Hilton on the MOON? Wow.

    You should be fine. Only an idiot would return to the scene when they were almost caught red-handed. Since idiots can't be trusted though, invest in an alarm system.

    Same thing happened to me 5 years ago. It was some 16 year old ice head. I layed a beating on him and called the cops. The police that responded decided I used an unreasonable level of force. They ended up charging me with assault. The judge gave me the option of giving my "victim" an apology or doing community service.

    I took the community service.

    yeah, i'm totally fine. It wasn't even really scary, just bizarre.

    I saw him through the door window and I said "can I help you?" and then he ran away.
