Tomorrow, the Edmonton Journal will be profiling the process which allows the Progressive Conservatives to commit this degree of political patronage.
UPDATE: Calgary-Nose Hill MLA Neil Brown says there's nothing wrong with these appointments.
Well they have to appoint all those Tories to those boards, since we don't have a provincial senate for the Alberta PC's to appoint people to. Have to reward the faithful somehow.
ReplyDeleteThe Herald and Journal this is some shocking revelation. I wonder if the federal Liberals ever appointed party members and supporters to various boarda, agencies and commissions?

ReplyDeleteDaveberta, great post but very old news.
The media in Alberta has been "owned" in so many ways by so few people that this very, very, very, old news has been quashed forever.
Real news would be the revelations of fraud, conducting real audits and charges laid for obstruction of justice; the hall mark signatures of Tories from Lougheed to klien.
Maybe this is a start
The Alberta Tories are no different than the Federal Liberals. Cronyism rules and is a large reason how the provincial tories have been able to sustain their power over 36 years.
